INTRODUCTION.

I felt moved to start this project as COVID was taking over and changing life styles throughout the UK and beyond in 2019. People were talking about the end of the world, and how we were all going to get swept up onto a pink fluffy cloud to play a harp.

Something inside told me that I had to do something as everyone was so ignorant to the true facts, as Jesus had told us so long ago, I felt inspired to apply my talent as an artist to help to clarify what Jesus had shown John whilst he was held prisoner on the Isle of Patmos as a very old man at the latter stages of the first century.

A picture is worth 1,000 words is a very well known saying in the UK, and considering that John was describing the visions that he was given, it seemed to be a natural complimentary addition, to help people to not only understand, but to remember the events that will lead to the time when Jesus eventually claims His people to spend eternity with Him, and indeed, those that won’t.

The text clearly instructs the words written by John must not be added to or deleted, hence I have included the full text from the New Living Translation in close connection with my illustrations of the appropriate passages, throughout the whole book.

Along side of that, will be a running commentary throughout, in order to clearly explain the symbolism as was common at the time of writing.

What has to be understood with this writing, is that John was recording a series of visions with an inclusive sound track from time to time, and what he saw, as a man from the first century was what he was seeing of activities to occur well into the future, to the point that some of the foretelling still hasn’t occurred some 2,000 years later.

It is important to recall, that his experience of transport, and warfare was still in the period of the Roman army. To that extent the reader can possibly consider how we might explain technology some 10 years ahead from today, and you can begin to understand as to how so much of the imagery seems so bizarre to the modern day reader.

An additional feature we should all be aware of, is that accounts of happenings were not necessarily written in historical sequence of events, as is evident throughout the listing of the books of the Bible, in particular reference to the writings of the Prophets and Paul’s letters. Largest first was the ruling of that time, when the Bible was finally collated.

Nonetheless we have to take John’s strict instruction, that he has written everything down in the order that it was revealed to him and not necessarily as things will occur..

So many commentators throughout interesting times of history have tried to foretell the timing of the great finish of the final days, although Jesus clearly tells us that even he had no idea, however there were going to be apparent ‘signs’ to be aware of, as the time will be drawing in.

Obviously there has always been wars, poverty and plague throughout history, nonetheless now the world stage appears to be so primed to respond as John seems to explain to us, what with the size of armies that could now be gathered are in line with the numbers he states within the vision.

To that end we can also comprehend as to how the whole world can see everywhere, from anywhere, as we see the news displayed on our mobile phones, so when the Messiah:- Jesus Christ, returns to Jerusalem, everyone will be able to witness it for themselves, as He returns in the same way He left.

I sincerely hope and pray that this publication helps to explain so much of which has not been clearly explained before, and indeed that some of the pictures will be of help throughout the journey.
